| Dr. Ashley Veine was born and raised in the little town of Manistee, Michigan, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. There, she quickly learned a love of animals and headed off to Northern Michigan University in the upper peninsula (she's a bit of a "yooper", she says) to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology. She stayed there another 2 years to get her Master's of Science Degree in Biology, with an emphasis in Parasitology (the reason you take your pets' fecal samples to the vet). During these years, she also did a lot of work with wildlife. She was then off to Iowa State University to earn her DVM. She met her husband, Jeremy, during her second year in Iowa. One week after graduation, they got married. One week after that, they moved out here so that she could pursue her dream. They have remained here ever since. She loves all kinds of animals and is willing to see cats, dogs, any pocket pet (including small mammals like ferrets, hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas), reptiles and birds. Dr. Veine has two cats (Zoe and Ember; both calico), two dogs (Sebastian and Shelby; a shepherd mix and a terrier mix), and two horses (Carmel and Orion; a quarter horse and a paint/percheron cross). |
