Sheba lived with us for 13 years and brought much joy into our family. We adopted her when she
was 11 months old. Sheba had a very healthy life and several months ago we brought Meg into our
life as Sheba was slowing down. For two months Sheba perked up and truly enjoyed having Meg
around. Then each and every day she went back to where she had been slowly and surely she lost
all life and would not eat. We tried everything we could as we loved her so much and she was so
special to our family. On September 15, 2008, we had to bring her to Harts Run to go to sleep.
What a difficult choice this was but we want all to know that even though Sheba had never been
treated at Harts Run as we switched vets when we got Meg the love shown to her as she went to
sleep was beyond anything we expected.
Sheba was not our first dog and not the first we had to put to sleep but the experience was what
Sheba needed for her journey. As we no longer have this wonderful, loving dog who gave
unconditional love to all and joy to our family we want to nominate her along with our new pet Meg
as Pet of the Month.
